If you’re currently using a Neat-branded scanner device (such as NeatReceipts or NeatDesk), you might want to hold off upgrading your software to version 5 for a while. Multiple users have reported issues with Neat 5, including random application crashes, missing features, various errors, and other problems. If you want further proof, check out their support forums:
As such, before committing to a full-fledged upgrade, you might want to test Neat version 5 on a spare computer. Otherwise, it might be prudent to wait a couple months until the product matures, before upgrading.
However, if you still decide to upgrade to Neat 5, ensure you make a backup first (so you can revert back to the previous version if you have to), and save the backup in a safe/secure place.
